Case Study - Scalextric 50th Birthday

Objective:
Celebrate 50 years of one of the best-loved brands in Britain.
Communicate the motorsports heritage of Scalextric and position it as an
innovative, modern brand.
Deliver high-impact media coverage.

Activity:
Threepipe created a Scalextric brand exhibition at London’s Imagination
gallery, featuring a display of products from 1957 to 2007.
Motorsport legend, John Surtees, was drafted in to talk to the media,
demonstrating the latest products and reminiscing about his boyhood
Scalextric memories.

Results:
Coverage of Scalextric’s 50th birthday was unmissable, appearing on
BBC Breakfast, BBC News, Five News and GMTV, plus numerous print
and online media.
