Objective: • To raise awareness of the board game Rummikub
throughout the summer of
2006 amongst family audiences - to help drive
pre-Christmas sales and to
find a UK champion to participate in the Rummikub
World Championships later
in the year.
Activity: • Threepipe created the Rummikub UK tour, which
took a branded double decker
bus to key city locations where regional tournaments
would be held. Threepipe
delivered media coverage in advance of the bus
arriving to encourage
attendance and to find a local winner that would
take part in the national
final to be held at hamleys. • Threepipe also arranged for the bus to visit both
Alton Towers and Chessington
World of Adventures free of charge.
Results: • Excellent regional media coverage and subsequent
attendance was achieved
at all city locations and the footfalls generated
at Alton Towers and
Chessington World of Adventures lead to high awareness
of the game. • Game sales on Amazon.co.uk increased significantly
during the promotional period.
